Moving Today's Market
After looking at the betting percentages for today's matchups there has been
some lopsided bets made as seven of the 15 games have 80 percent of the bet
favoring one team. One of those games involve Ian Snell (4-10, 5.91 ERA) and the
Pirates against the Cardinals and Braden Looper (11-9, 4.07 ERA). The public has
pounded the side of the Cardinals, receiving 88 percent of the money line bets.
Pinnacle opened at Cardinals -191 and increased to -226 after two Steam Moves
were made at 5Dimes (+8.03 units) and ABC (+2.96 units). Snell is winless in
four starts against the Cardinals this season and has allowed 19 runs in 19
innings. A possible reason the public and professionals are cheering for the
Cardinals tonight.
Another game grabbing the attention among the professionals (Smart Money) is the Astros
against the Brewers. When Astros manager Cecil Cooper predicted a sweep in the
series it didn't take long to find out he was wrong, after losing 9-3 Monday
night, and now his team faces Ben Sheets (11-6, 3.00 ERA). Pinnacle opened at
Brewers -250 and has slightly decreased to -235. The professionals are pounding
the side of the Astros as five Smart Money alerts were triggered at various
sportsbooks including ABC (+17.02 units), Skybook (+6.70 units) and 5Dimes
(+5.23 units). Brewers all-star outfielder Ryan Braun is questionable after
leaving Monday's game with the same ribcage injury that sidelined him last week,
and second baseman Rickie Weeks is doubtful with a thumb injury. The
professionals (Smart Money) are thinking those injuries will factor into the outcome of
tonight's game, but 75 percent of the public is still on Milwaukee's side.
